Uganda (Photographers Without Borders)

Photos from my March 2019 trip to Jinja, Uganda on assignment for Photographers Without Borders.
The assignment was to document the work of X-SUBA Sport4Development Uganda, an NGO that gets disadvantaged children into sports and provides educational opportunities when they can't afford to go to school.

  • Another successful day...from left to right, Kenneth, co-founder of X-SUBA, Jay Jay, Iggy, and Simon. This makes up almost the entire compliment of volunteer coaches who visit different schools in their community each week to bring organized sports and exercise to them.

  • Simon, a volunteer, teaching the alphabet to children at the X-SUBA Learning Center. They hold classes three days a week (English, Math, and Critical Thinking) during the morning hours. These classes are designed to keep the children in an educational environment until they can find tuition to attend primary school.
