Uganda (Photographers Without Borders)

Photos from my March 2019 trip to Jinja, Uganda on assignment for Photographers Without Borders.
The assignment was to document the work of X-SUBA Sport4Development Uganda, an NGO that gets disadvantaged children into sports and provides educational opportunities when they can't afford to go to school.

Soweto, one of the poorest neighborhoods in Walukuba. Trash is scattered everywhere and contributes to health problems within the community. X-SUBA is educating the youth in the community about the dangers of litter, hoping the children can change the attitude of the adults.
Many of X-SUBA's beneficiaries come from Soweto, the poorest neighborhood in Walukuba. All of the homes are made of sticks & mud and have no electricity or running water. Mubarrack was at the Learning Center but just received a sponsorship to attend primary school. He has one other brother attending school through sponsorship from another group. His single mother does laundry for others and sells eggs.
Soweto, the poorest neighborhood in Walukuba. Water is difficult to come by and many children drink from questionable water sources, like these boys looking at a bottle they just found.
