This small hill is the namesake of the community of Cerrito de la Virgen. The top of the rocky promontory features a painting of la Virgen del Socorro, the patron saint of the region's fishermen.
Otra Cosa Network's youth development program helps the children of Cerrito de la Virgen learn many important skills that they're not getting due to the lack of formal educational opportunities. This day's program is all about listening skills. The children are given the task of building the tallest structure possible out of uncooked spaghetti and marshmallows. They are split into teams, must work together, and work towards the original objective they were given.
