Huanchaco's sign framed by the caballitos that draw many tourists to the city, and are a source of cultural pride to the people. The caballitos are endangered by many modern-day issues.
One of Otra Cosa Network's partnerships, tied to their girl's LitClub, is the Global GLOW program. This worldwide program is an advocacy program for girls and young women. Development programs aim to help these women stand up for themselves and make their communities stronger.
This day's discussion during the Global GLOW program was about discrimination. The girls learned about what discrimination is, why people discriminate, and the effects of discrimination. Specific to their community, the girls learned about Afroperuanos, or Peruvians of African descent, and their contributions to the country.
