Brayan, one of Otra Cosa Network's early beneficiaries from the community of Cerrito de la Virgen, takes a final wave for the night. Brayan is now employed as a surf instructor at a local surf school and continues to teach youth from his community how to surf.

There are monuments throughout Huanchaco celebrating the unique and vastly important cultural heritage of the area. One of the main tourist draws is this surf heritage, and the caballitos that fishermen have used for thousands of years up to present day. Several different modern-day problems are threatening this way of life, and with it, a proud heritage and important source of income.
